Wood Recycling

We accept all clean, non-treated wood for recycling. ​ Nails are acceptable. Treated wood requires a special waste permit. ​ Contact Waste Control at (360) 425-302 for current fee information.

Waste Motor Oil & Antifreeze

We maintain free drop-off recycling sites throughout our service area for waste motor oil and antifreeze.

Automobile Recycling

We accept automobile bodies for buy-back recycling with the following stipulations:

You must show proper legal documents for the automobile, such as:Sign of Clear Title, Junk Vehicle Affidavit, Affidavit in Lieu of Title, or Abandon Vehicle/Vehicle of Sale by Licensed Tow Truck Company. The Washington Department of Licensing has information for obtaining proper legal documents.

  • You must drain all fluids from the vehicle. This includes fluids in the brakes, engine, transmission, and radiator.
  • You must remove and drain all fuel tanks. Place extra holes in the top and bottom on the fuel tank(s). You may place the fuel tank(s) on the back seat.
  • You must remove all mercury switches.
  • You must remove all batteries.
  • You must remove all tires.
  • You must remove all air conditioners. Note that air conditioning units must be purged at an authorized location and removed by a professional because they contain freon.
  • You must remove all air bags.

For boats and RVs, call ahead.

What Can I Recycle?

Waste Control will pick up a variety of recyclable items:

  • Magazines
  • Books
  • Office paper


flat Cardboard

  • Aluminum cans
  • Steel cans
  • Aluminum bottles
  • Steel bottles


Aluminum Cans – Flatten to save space.Clean foil is also recyclable.

Cardboard – Break down boxes to save space. No cardboard contaminated with food, such as pizza boxes.

Glass – Clear, green, or brown glass only. Absolutely no window or auto glass!

No bags or boxes are to be deposited into the “glass only” recycling container.

Mixed Paper – Includes junk mail, magazines, colored paper, phone books, and cereal-type boxes. No juice or milk cartons. No wax-coated or foil-coated paper. No paper contaminated with food.

Newspaper – Remove and recycle kraft bags as cardboard. Do not bundle newspaper. No need to remove labels.

Tin Cans – Rinse, remove, and recycle labels. Flatten to save space.

Washers & Dryers – Old washers must have concrete removed from the bottom.

Freezers, Refrigerators, & Air Conditioners – Refrigerators must have Freon and compressors removed by a certified technician.
