Waste Control accepts cash or checks in person or by mail. You also can set up automatic payments through your financial institution. We currently do not accept credit or debit cards.

4. Does Waste Control accept hazardous materials?
Waste Control accepts household hazardous waste at the HazWaste Facility (Building A), which is open from 9:30 a.m. to 11:30 a.m. on Tuesdays and Saturdays. There is no fee and no appointment necessary for delivering household hazardous waste.
We also accept hazardous waste from Conditionally Exempt Small Quantity Generators (qualifying commerical generators of hazardous waste). Please contact Waste Control at (360) 425-4302 for an appointment and fee information.

5. How do I dispose of sharps, e.g. used needles?
Sharps must be deposited into a sealed container, such as a 2-liter plastic bottle. Place duct tape around the lid and take to the HazWaste Facility (Building A).

6. Can I put lawn clippings and tree branches in the recyclable containers?
No, at this time we do not accept lawn clipping, tree branches, or other compostable materials. The recycling containers are for clean paper, aluminum cans, tin cans, glass bottles, metals, and plastic containers. Please rinse all containers before placing them in your recycling container.

7. Is identification required on all metal transactions?
Yes, valid identification is required on all metal transactions. There are no exceptions.

8. What do I do with electronic waste?
Households, small businesses, schools, small governments, special purpose districts, and charities can recycle electronic waste free of charge under a program called E-Cycle Washington. Electronic waste eligible under the program includes:
- televisions
- computers
- computer monitors
- portable or laptop computers
- Note: Computer peripherals such as keyboards, mice, and printers are not included in this program.
E-waste can be delivered to the Longview Goodwill.

Waste Control also accepts E-waste at the Buy-Back Recycling Center, located on the north end of the facility. The Buy-Back Recycling Center is open 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. 7 days a week.

10. Is Waste Control open on holidays?
The Business Office is closed on all major holidays (New Years Day, July 4th, Memorial Day, Labor Day, Thanksgiving, and Christmas).
The Transfer Station is open for self-hauled waste, drop-off recycling, and buy-back recycling during holidays, except for July 4th, Christmas Day, and New Years Day. The facility is closed if these holidays fall on a weekend. The facility is open until noon if these holidays fall on a week day.

11. Is garbage collected on holidays?
Waste collection and curbside recycling services are uninterrupted during holidays, except for Christmas and New Years Day. If your pick-up day falls on Christmas or New Years Day, then your garbage and recycling will be collected the day following your normal pick-up day for the remainder of the week.
